7-18-25   THOUGHTS  

God’s Word gives us “a small and precise set of words”  to help us deal with the unpleasant and maybe unfair things in life!  If we are to present God’s image to our world, we must “overcome evil with good.”   Love supports this principle.  We must plant light and truth in a dark world.  Weeds will grow... we must allow God to take care of the weeds.  When it comes to us, there must be peace!

Rom 12:17-21    Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.  18  If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19  Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. 20  "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." 21  Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

A Prayer:
Father, as we see Your love, and grace and mercy, may we respond to our world in like manner.
Help us to sow kindness and peace as we influence our world.  May we give life the smile of Jesus and the good news of  His salvation.  Remind us always that vengeance belongs to You.  You have given us better things to be occupied with in this life.  Help us always overcome evil with good.   Darkness flees from light... remind us always where the power is!  In the name of Jesus our Lord,   Amen.
